Crafting History for Schools:

Three Perspectives

A range of expertise and decades of combined experience in the field of history education will be presented as a trio of educators talk about their views on educational programming. Workshop participants will learn how current programs were developed and are delivered, see examples of what has worked (and what has not), and hear about sources of funding. Examples of the tools, materials, and resources used by each educator, for outreach and onsite school programs, will be shared with the group.

10:15AM – 11:15AM  20-minute presentations by each presenter
11:15AM – 11:30AM  Break
11:30AM – 12:30PM  Discussion and Q & A

Your Presenters

Kathy Goldner, Outreach Manager, Boothbay Region Historical Society
Kathy is currently presenting Boothbay history to the third grades at Boothbay Region Elementary School.  She devised and ran a history and literature enrichment program in Waldo County for 15 years, was External Relations Director for Penobscot Marine Museum, and Education Director for Boothbay Railway Village.

Louise Miller, Education Director, Lincoln County Historical Association (LCHA)
Louise works with three historic sites under the care of LCHA.  Her approach to sharing this varied history is interdisciplinary. Julia Einstein, Maine Education Program Coordinator, Historic New England
