Archival Interns
Maine Maritime Museum seeks two full-time, unpaid Archival Interns to work with contracted Archivists, Museum staff and volunteers as part of a CLIR funded grant project. The duration of these opportunities is eight weeks during Summer 2012 with flexible start dates. Duties include the processing, arrangement and description of selected manuscript collections relating to shipping. Research, assisting in the creation of finding aids and data entry are also required. The successful candidates will have completed coursework in American History, Library Science, or Museum Studies and possess excellent organizational, written and interpersonal skills.

Library/Curatorial Intern
Maine Maritime Museum seeks a full-time, unpaid intern to work with the Museum's curators and volunteers for eight weeks in Summer 2012 with a flexible start date. The primary project will be to sort and integrate a large group of photograph, ephemeral, and manuscript collections into the Museums existing Library collections. Additional duties include data entry, exhibit installation, processing incoming artifacts and various tasks as assigned. The successful candidate will have completed coursework in American History, Library Science, or Museum Studies and possess excellent organizational, written and interpersonal skills.
